1. must 表示「必須」
如果你想表示一件事是「必須做的」（necessary）、「重要的」（important），或是「某條法律、某個規則規定它是必須做的」，來看例句。
You must unfollow all the girls on your Instagram if you want to prove that you love me.
想證明你愛我，你必須退追 IG上面所有的女生 😗。The doctor says that you must drink more water.
醫生交代你必須喝更多水才行。Motorcyclists must wear their helmets.
機車騎士必須戴安全帽。Students must get to the school before 7:30. It’s so early!
學生必須要七點半前就到校，好早喔！
⚠️ 注意注意！這時候的 must 如果後面加上 not，會比較特別喔，意思會改變！不是代表「不必」，而是「不許做某事」，也就是 not allowed to do something 的意思。
You must not tell others my secret. It’s between you and me.
不准你告訴別人我的秘密 🔪，這件事只有我們兩人知道。You must not drink and drive. It’s too dangerous!
你不能酒駕，太危險了 💀！You must not use your cell phones in class.
你們上課不可以用手機 📵。

2. must 表示「一定」(含 must be)
must 也可以表示「一定」，用在推測某事的可能性，或是推薦人家做某事，來看例句吧。
You haven’t eaten anything since last night. You must be hungry.
你從昨天晚上就都沒吃東西，一定餓了吧。The jeans cost more than NTD 20,000? You must be kidding me.
那件牛仔褲要兩萬多元 😲？你一定是在跟我說笑吧。The teacher complains about his students every day. He must not like the job.
那個老師每天都在說學生壞話抱怨學生，他一定不喜歡這份工作吧。The boss’s laptop isn’t on her desk. She must not be in the office.那個主管的筆電沒有在桌上，她一定不在公司。
You must stay with me when you come to Taiwan.
你來台灣時，一定要來住我家。Sex Education is a funny British TV series. You must watch it.

3. must + have + p.p. 的用法
如果是推測過去的事，這時候 must 後面的動詞就不是原形囉，要改成 have + p.p. ，下面來看推測現在和過去的例句分別長什麼樣子。
You have been yawning. You must be sleepy. ➡ 現在
你一直在打呵欠，一定是想睡了You slept only three hours every day last week. You must have been exhausted. ➡ 過去
你上週每天只睡三小時，當時一定累壞了吧。
You can’t even walk straight. You must be drunk. ➡ 現在
你連路都走不直，一定是喝醉了。I can’t find my wallet. I must have left it home. ➡ 過去
我找不到皮夾，我一定是把它留在家裡了。（ put 的動作是發生在過去）
