「no matter」正確用法是？來看例句一次搞懂！

no matter 是什麼意思呢？光看這兩個字你可能沒什麼感覺，直接奉上幾個例句給你瞧一瞧吧：

No matter who told you the news, don’t believe it.
無論是誰告訴你這個消息，都不要相信。

No matter what people say, just be yourself.
無論人們說什麼，做你自己就好。

No matter how terrible the weather is, they will go hiking.
無論天氣會多糟，他們都會去健行。

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t fall asleep.
無論我多麽努力嘗試，我還是睡不著。

從以上的句子你應該可以得知 no matter 是「無論」的意思，而且後面都會有一個 wh- 疑問詞的跟屁蟲對吧！

no matter wh-疑問詞 的用法

no matter 表示「無論」，後面會依據語意加上不同的 wh-疑問詞，如下面所列：

基本上，no matter + wh- 疑問詞後面接的架構差不多，會引導出一個子句為主，但不同的疑問詞後面接的還是有幾個不同之處，接下來就一個一個來看吧！

📌 no matter who  無論是誰

No matter who you are, you can’t violate the law.
無論你是誰，都不能違反法律。

No matter who they are, I don’t want to waste my time listening to them.
無論他們是誰，我都不想浪費時間聽他們說。

No matter who you meet, do not talk to him/her.
無論你遇到誰，都不要跟他／她說話。

No matter who you ask, you won’t get the answer.
無論你問誰，都不會得到答案。

No matter who comes, I will be welcome.
無論是誰過來，我都很歡迎。

No matter who wins the election, he/she should keep his/her promises.
無論是誰贏得那場選舉，他／她都應該要信守諾言。

➡ 特別要請你看最後兩句 👀，當 who 的後面是直接加上動詞時，who 會具有雙重身分，同時為疑問詞及子句的主詞，並會視為第三人稱單數，故後面的動詞用了 comes 及 wins

另外，上面的其中兩個例句可以改成用 no matter whom 來表達，因為 whom 分別會作為 meet 和 ask 的受詞。代換成 no matter whom 時意思不變，但會顯得比較正式，就像這樣：

No matter whom you meet, do not talk to him/her.

No matter whom you ask, you won’t get the answer.

📌 no matter where  無論何處

No matter where she goes, she always wears a red hat.
無論她到哪裡，她都總是會帶著一頂紅色的帽子。

No matter where the mother goes, her baby follows her.
無論那位媽媽到哪裡，她的寶寶都會跟著她。

➡ 這裡的 where 引導出子句（主詞＋動詞）

📌 no matter when  無論何時；每當

No matter when I hear that song, I think of my grandma.
每當我聽到那首歌時，就會想到我奶奶。

No matter when you arrive at the train station, just call me.
無論你何時會到車站，打給我就對了。

➡ 這裡的 when 引導出子句（主詞＋動詞）

📌 no matter what  無論什麼

No matter what you say, you won’t change his mind.
無論你們說什麼，都無法改變他的心意。

No matter what Gina does for her husband, he’s not satisfied.
無論 Gina 為她男友做什麼，他都感到不滿意。

No matter what happens, we will always stand by you.
無論發生什麼事，我們都會一直支持著你。

No matter what happens in your life, always face it with a smile.
無論你生命中發生什麼事，都要面帶微笑來面對。

➡ 特別要請你看最後兩句 👀，當 what 的後面是直接加上動詞時，what 會具有雙重身分，同時為疑問詞及子句的主詞，並會視為第三人稱單數，故後面的動詞用了 happens

補充一下，在口語中可以把 no matter what 放在句尾，表示無倫如何都一定會去做前面那件事，前方加不加逗號都可以，例如：

I’m on your side no matter what.
不管怎麼樣，我都會站在你那邊。

They will vote for that candidate, no matter what.
不管怎麼樣，他們都會將票投給那位候選人。

We have to arrive at the meeting before 6 p.m., no matter what.
不管怎麼樣，我們一定要在晚上六點前抵達那場會議。

📌 no matter which  無論是哪一個

No matter which flavor you choose, you’re gonna like it.
無論你選擇哪一種口味，你都會喜歡的。

No matter which route you take, it takes five hours to be there.
無論你走哪一條路線，都需要花費五小時到那。

No matter which team wins the game, we’ll be happy.
無論哪一個隊伍贏得比賽，我們都會很開心。

➡ 這裡的 which 通常會先加上一個名詞，再引導出子句（主詞＋動詞）

📌 no matter how  無論如何

No matter how Joseph apologized for his mistake, his girlfriend wouldn’t forgive him.
無論 Joseph 怎麼為他的過錯道歉，他女友都不肯原諒他。

No matter how you want to spend your day, you must follow the rules.
無論你想要怎麼度過你的一天，你都一定要遵守這些規範。

➡ 這裡的 how 引導出子句（主詞＋動詞）

No matter how careful the doctor was, he still got infected with the virus.
無論那位醫生多麽地小心，他仍然受到病毒的感染。

No matter how rich the man became, he never donated to the charity.
無論那位男人變得多麼富有，他都不曾捐錢給慈善機構。

➡ 這裡的 how 會加上一個形容詞，再引導出子句（主詞＋動詞）

No matter how early she got up, she still managed to be late for school.
無論她多早起床，她上學都還是會遲到。

No matter how hard he tried, he still couldn’t win the girl’s heart.
無論他多努力嘗試，他還是無法贏得那位女孩的芳心。

➡ 這裡的 how 會加上一個副詞，再引導出子句（主詞＋動詞）

No matter how many times you see this movie, you’ll still get inspired.
這部電影無論你看幾次，你都還是會受到啟發。

No matter how many times you say it, it still didn’t happen.
無論你說過那件事多少次，它就是沒發生。

No matter how much the house costs, Wendy will still definitely buy it.
無論那間房子要花多少錢，Wendy 都絕對會買下它。

No matter how much Ken feels discouraged, he will still never give up.
無論 Ken 感到有多麽地喪志，他也絕對不會放棄。

➡ 這裡可以用 how many + 名詞或 how much 來引導出子句（主詞＋動詞）

而以上的 no matter wh-子句 都是可以和主要子句調換位置的唷，那這時候句中通常不會加逗號，此外也要留意一下代名詞的使用，這裡以最後三句來做示範：

It didn’t happen no matter how many times you say it.

Wendy will definitely buy the house no matter how much it costs.

Ken will never give up no matter how much he feels discouraged.

no matter wh- 代換成 wh-ever 的用法

要表示「無論何時」除了用 no matter when，還可以代換成 whenever 唷，其他的 wh- 疑問詞亦是如此，如下方所示：

那這兩者用法基本上是一樣的，可以放在主要子句前面或後面，以下用上面的例句直接代換給你看看吧：

No matter who comes, I will be welcome.
= Whoever comes, I will be welcome.

No matter whom you meet, do not talk to him/her.
= Whomever you meet, do not talk to him/her.

No matter where she goes, she always wears a red hat.
= Wherever she goes, she always wears a red hat.

No matter when I hear that song, I think of my grandma.
= Whenever I hear that song, I think of my grandma.

No matter what you say, you won’t change his mind.
= Whatever you say, you won’t change his mind.

No matter which flavor you choose, you’re gonna like it.
= Whichever flavor you choose, you’re gonna like it.

No matter how careful the doctor was, he still got infected with the virus.
= However careful the doctor was, he still got infected with the virus.

No matter how many times you see this movie, you’ll enjoy it.
= However many times you see this movie, you’ll enjoy it.

⏰ 最後小小提醒一下，no matter how = however，這個 however 跟當副詞的「然而」長得一模一樣，但是意思完全不一樣！表示然而的 however 通常會有個逗號加在後面，呈現轉折語氣，在閱讀句子的時候要小心分辨兩者唷！
