decide 的另一個意思是「決定／導致⋯⋯結果」，後面常接名詞。

Jack 的表現將會決定這場跳舞比賽的結果。It was the interview that decided Sara’s future career.
就是那場面試決定了 Sara 未來的職涯。The soccer player’s mistake decided the game.

Determine
1. 表「影響、決定」的意思
determine 其中一個意思是「影響、決定」，雖然跟 decide 的第二個意思很相近，但語氣更強烈和正式。用法上，determine 可以直接加名詞或 wh- 名詞子句，或是也常會以被動式呈現，表示「取決於⋯⋯、（受影響）而決定」之意。
Many people believe height is genetically determined.
很多人相信身高取決於基因。Your salary determines how much money you can borrow from the bank.
你的薪水會影響能跟銀行借到的金額。Your attitude will always determine your altitude.
你的態度向來決定了你的高度。
2. 表「判定、斷定」的意思
determine 還常用以表示「判定、斷定」，用來描述經過調查、研究後找到事實或真相而下的定論，例如可以用 determine 講述警方經過多方調查後「斷定」車禍的原因。這個意思和用法比較正式，所以通常會出現在書面或一些正式場合。

Resolve
1. 表「堅決、下定決心」的意思
resolve 的意思是「堅決、下定決心」，它的語氣又更強烈、正式，強調有堅定的信念或遠大的抱負而決意做某件事。

Terry resolved to quit smoking after his daughter was born.
Terry 在他女兒出生後，下定決心要戒菸。My friend resolved to open a restaurant even though she didn’t have much money.
我朋友即使沒有太多錢，還是堅決要開一間餐廳。
🔎 resolve + that 子句
Hank resolved that one day he would set up a company on his own.
Hank 下定決心有朝一日要自己創立公司。To become a software engineer, Flora resolved that she would learn to code by herself.
為了成為軟體工程師，Flora 下定決心要自學寫程式。
2. 表「決議」的意思
resolve 還有一個意思是「決議」，表示透過投票做出的正式決議，常用於正式場合，像是政府機關的會議。這裡 resolve 的用法跟第一個意思差不多，一樣可以加 to V 或 that 子句。
