在很多英文文章或影劇裡應該都不難發現 in addition 和 in addition to 的身影，仔細一看，它們就只差在一個 to，但是用法上是不能直接互換的，那兩者的用法到底差在哪裡呢？🤔 這邊先讓你觀察這四個句子思考一下吧：
He can speak Spanish well. In addition, he is good at math.
他西班牙文講得很好，此外，他也很擅長數學。This hotel is clean and cheap. In addition, it’s near the subway.

看完之後，你應該可以發現 in addition 和 in addition to 的意思差不多，都是加法 (A + B) 的概念，其中 addition 是動詞 add 的名詞型，所以會跟「增加、加法」的意思有關。

in addition 的用法
in addition 的中文意思為「此外、再者、而且」，會用作副詞，通常會放在句首，後面會加上逗號再接一個句子，以用來補充和上一句話相關的事情。
in addition 也可以代換為 additionally、moreover、furthermore 等副詞。
Antony is an outstanding pianist. In addition, he is good at doing magic tricks.
Antony 是一位傑出的鋼琴家，此外，他還很擅長變魔術。The food in that restaurant is delicious and unique. In addition, it’s not expensive.

接者，補充一個小地方，如果你不想要讓 in addition 另起一個新的句子，也可以將逗號改成分號唷，像是這樣：
The food in that restaurant is delicious and unique; in addition, it’s not expensive.
但千萬要留意，不能直接用逗號連接兩句唷，這是很多學習者容易寫錯的地方 ⚠️

in addition to 的用法
in addition to 的中文意思為「除了…之外，還有…」，其中 to 為介系詞，後面需加上名詞或是動名詞，整個放在句首或句中皆行。
in addition to 可以代換為 apart from、other than 等，一樣都是加法的概念唷。

此外，句子中也會看到用 in addition to that 來表示「除了剛剛所說的，還…」，其實用起來跟前面提到的 in addition 差不多唷，例如：

👩🏻🏫 小提醒：in addition 和 in addition to 的句子裡本身就有加法概念了，所以就不需要再搭配 also 了，雖然加了 also 不會算是錯誤，但就會讓它聽起來是冗詞唷。
