偶爾會聽到學中文的同學抱怨中文裡有許多的量詞，而英文只有在名詞前面加上數字，並搭配少數的量詞就好，但真的是這樣嗎 😕 其實英文也有相當多的量詞用來計算比較難衡量的事物，今天整理了一系列英文常用的量詞，讓你一次了解哪些事物該搭配哪些量詞喔！
數詞 / 量詞 英文
首先我們來介紹英文當中的數詞與量詞，數詞的英文是 numeral，通常可數名詞前直接加數詞就可以計算了，例如 one cat 就是一隻貓、ten people 就是十個人，而 one、ten 都是數詞的範疇喔~
但英文中也有許多不可數名詞是需要一個單位才能計算的，這時候會需要用到量詞，也就是 measure words ─ measure 就是衡量的意思，以下先舉幾個常見的例子讓大家看看 😉
We ordered food enough for four servings.
我們點了四人份的食物。
He always adds a spoonful of honey to his tea.
他總是在茶裡加一匙的蜂蜜。
Pam always eats a handful of nuts after dinner.
潘姆總是在晚餐後吃一把堅果。Due to the bad weather, only a handful of people showed up at the event.
因天候不佳，只有少數人來參加活動。
He bought five bars of soap in the market.
他到市場上買了五塊肥皂。She felt guilty after eating ten bars of chocolate.
她吃了十塊巧克力後感到罪惡。
The joke had all of the kids in fits of laughter.

| 👉 Fit 的意思也相當多，其中可以用來表示一陣突發的感受，因此可以作為笑聲或怒氣的單位。 | ||

| 👉 Handful 有一把的意思，想像我們用手抓一些豆子或堅果，就可以說 a handful of nuts。這個字也有少量之意，因此若要指少量的人也是可以的喔~ | ||

👉 當玉米還在田裡被葉子包覆的時候我們會說一株玉米或一顆玉米 ，而英文則用 ear 來當作它的單位詞。Ear 是耳朵的意思，而據說 ear 的古字源自於玉米芯，因此用 ear 作為玉米的單位呢 🌽 |

| 👉 Pint 這個字在英式與美式的算法各不相同，在英式相當於 568 毫升；在美式則相當於 473 毫升。現在有的時候會直接代表裝啤酒的容器 🍺 | ||

| 👉 Pair 這個字意指「一對」，常用來計算成雙的事物，例如褲子、鞋子、筷子、眼鏡等。 | ||

| 👉 Information 以及 advice 都是不可數的名詞，因此若要表示聽到兩個消息，或是要給他人三大建議的時候，不能直接加 s 表示複數，這時候請使用 piece 這個單位詞就可以囉~ | ||

👉 要記得 loaf 的複數是 loaves 喔~

她一怒之下大罵了他。
She scolded him in a fit a rage.
👉 前面提到 fit 可以當作一陣感受的單位，因此可以當作 怒氣 rage 的單位詞。
4. Owen handed me a of paper.
Owen 遞了一張紙給我。
Owen handed me a piece of paper.
👉 紙的單位除了可以使用 sheet 之外，也可以使用 piece，同樣代表一張紙 📝
5. Lin lit a cigarette and blew a of smoke in the air.
Lin 點燃了香菸並吐出一縷煙。
Lin lit a cigarette and blew a wisp of smoke.
👉 一絲煙或一縷煙的單位可以使用 wisp 🚬
6. My mom bought five of toilet paper in the supermarket.
我媽在超市買了五捲衛生紙。
My mom bought five rolls of toilet paper in the supermarket.
👉 捲筒衛生紙的單位為 roll，若衛生紙為包裝的，也可以用 pack 喔~
7. I had a of beer at the bar.
我在酒吧裡喝了一品脫的啤酒。
I had a pint of beer at the bar.
👉 Pint 是比較精準的啤酒量詞，可以算出容量。而一杯啤酒或一瓶啤酒的單位也可以用 mug 或 glass 🍺
8. Henry bought a new of sunglasses at the kiosk.
Henry 在販售亭買了一副新的太陽眼鏡。
Henry bought a new pair of sunglasses at the kiosk.
👉 Pair 用來計算成對的東西，因此可以當作眼鏡的量詞 👓
