如何用英文問路 / 指引方向？來一次搞懂！

雖然現今科技發達，Google Map 和 Siri 小姐都能在你迷失方向時成為不可或缺的左右手，但有時候還是會遇到網路不穩，或是呼叫它們幫忙後仍找不到路的情況，這時候還是得走向一位看起來慈眉善目的路人並勇於詢問，然而用英文問路沒有想像中困難，只要掌握幾個基本句型與技巧，絕對難不倒你啦！

如何問路？

假設你想去某個地方，一般而言你可以使用 “How can I get to + 地點” 表達，常見地點有 train station（火車站）、pharmacy（藥局）、supermarket（超市）、airport（機場）、post office（郵局）、police station（警察局）、restaurant（餐廳）等。

A: Excuse me. How can I get to the train station?
不好意思，請問我該如何抵達火車站？

B: Oh, just go straight and turn left. You’ll see it on your right hand side.
噢！只要直走再左轉，你就會看到它在你的右手邊啦！

這樣已經很有禮貌了，不過如果你想更有禮貌，給你一個秘訣，你可以用 “Would you mind…” 或 “Can you tell me…” 把句子拉長，讓整句話聽起來更婉轉也更有禮貌。

Can you tell me how I can get to the train station?
您能告訴我我該如何去火車站嗎？

Would you mind telling me how I can get to the train station?
您介意告訴我該如何去火車站嗎？

Excuse me. I was just wondering if you would mind telling me how I could possibly get to the train station.
不好意思，我想知道您能不能告訴我該如何去火車站。

如何引導方向？

我們來看看最基本的問路片語和句子有哪些，通常少不了的就是「直走」、「左轉」和「右轉」啦！

• • go forward / go straight　直走

A: Excuse me. How can I get to the bar?
不好意思，請問我該如何去這間酒吧？

B: Just go straight and walk for approximately 10 minutes. It’s near Taipei 101.
只要直走約十分鐘，就在台北 101 附近。

• • turn left / make a left　左轉
  • turn right / make a right　右轉
  • It’s on your left.　它在你的左手邊。
  • It’s on your right.　它在你的右手邊。

A: Excuse me. Could you tell me where the restaurant is?
不好意思，您能告訴我這間餐廳在哪裡嗎？

B: Sure. Go down this street and make a right. You will see it on your right.
當然可以！沿著這條街走，然後右轉，你會看到它在你的右手邊。

實用的指引方向句型

無論是問路或在他人迷路時，你有可能會用到以下較常見的句子，往後在問與答之間，再也不用結結巴巴，或滿臉問號不懂對方的意思啦！

1. 沿著這條路走

• • Go up this street.
  • Go down this street.
  • Go along this street.

2. 直走兩條街

• • Go forward for two blocks.

嚴格來說，block 這個字是一個街區，主要是美國人會用到的單字，在英國和台灣都不太適合使用，因為美國的都市計畫做得很漂亮，街道與街道間呈現一個個整齊有序的區塊，不過英國和台灣卻不是如此，因此就無法將 block 套用其中啦！

3. 走過某個地方

• • Go past + 地點

Go past the post office.
走過郵局。

4. 到達某個地方就 … （直走 / 左轉 / 右轉等）

• • When you reach the + 地點, …

When you reach the post office, turn left.
到達郵局後就左轉。

* reach 有伸展的意思，不過在指引方向時，一般指達到或抵達。

5. 向北 / 向東 / 向西 / 向南走

• Go north　向北走
• Go east　向東走
• Go west　向西走
• Go south　向南走

當別人問路時，還是得斟酌是否適合以東西南北引導方向，畢竟對方可能對要去的地方一點頭緒都沒有，更別說是東西南北啦！

A: Excuse me. Can you tell me how I can get to Xiao-Min Hospital?
不好意思，請問我該如何去小明醫院？

B: Oh, no problem! You need to go east for a block, next, north for a block, and then west. After that, you’ll see the hospital.
噢，沒問題！你得先向東走一個街區，再往北走一個街區，然後向西邊走，就會看到醫院了！

A: Sorry, it’s too complicated. I don’t think I can make it.
抱歉，聽起來太複雜了，我覺得我應該到不了。

B: You know what? Actually I’m walking the way. You can come with me.
你知道嗎？其實我正要去那裡，你可以和我一起走。

6. 轉個彎就是了

• • It is around the corner.

A: Excuse me. Where is the washroom?
不好意思，請問洗手間在哪裡？

B: It’s right around the corner.
只要轉個彎就可以看到嘍！
