1. recommend 表示「推薦某人事物給某人」的意思
第一種用法是 recommend + 名詞，這個名詞可以是人或物，可以不表明要推薦人或物給誰。

她推薦在街上的這間商店。Can you recommend a good restaurant?
你能推薦一間不錯的餐廳嗎？
在使用這個用法時，一般還會在名詞後面加上「to + 某人」來表明要「推薦某個事物給某人」。
需注意的是，有很多英文學習者會按照中文的邏輯思維去思考，就直接在動詞後面接上「to + 某人」，但這完全是一種錯誤用法。

她推薦街上的這間商店給我們。I recommend the book to all my friends. ⭕️
I recommend to all my friends the book. ❌
我推薦這本書給我所有的朋友。

2. recommend 表示「推薦某人做某事」的意思
在英文裡，推薦某人做某事會有兩種用法，第一種是「recommend + Ving」，第二種用法是「recommend that + 子句」，that 可以省略，且意思等同 recommend + Ving，可以相互替換。
很多人在學到 recommend 的時候，容易將不正確的 recommend (sb.) to… 脫口而出，但你發現了嗎？其實動名詞的形式才是正確的。千萬要多做相關練習，不要再說出一口 NG 英文，好好趁這個機會糾正慣性錯誤吧！

Their parents recommended to visit Melbourne. ❌
他們的父母推薦造訪墨爾本。The local recommended taking a guided tour of the island. ⭕️

這位當地人推薦參加這個島嶼的導覽。
最後一種用法是使用 WH 來表達，比如 who、what、how 等等。
Can you recommend what I should do next?
你能推薦我下一步該怎麼做嗎？Please recommend how I can become taller naturally.
請推薦我自然長高的方法。

➡️ 在名詞後面加上「to + 某人」來表明要「推薦某個事物給某人」。
④ 這位老師建議他的學生每天練習英文。
The teacher recommended (that) his students practice English every day.
⑤ 你能建議我應該收多少錢嗎？
Can you recommend how much I should charge?
